Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

​Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the January 23, 2017 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Awarded Confidential Secretary Rene' Rowton with her twenty-year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Rene' on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of service. Rene' thanked the Commission and said "It has been a blessing to work here."

Approved amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with Sigma Six Solutions. Additional time and equipment are necessary for the successful commissioning of the Veedol Substation. This increases the contract by $26,543 for a total not to exceed amount of $121,543 and extends the completion date to March 31, 2017. (17-010)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 17-02-W, service and draft tube air compressor upgrades at the Wells Hydroelectric Project.   The air compressors were originally installed in the 1960s are at the end of their design life. (17-011)

Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Reeves Lawn and Spray Service, LLC under contract 13-22-W, 2014 grounds maintenance. All work has been completed and determined to meet bid specifications. (17-012)

Authorized award of contract 16-33-W, 2017-2018 forebay debris removal services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project to KRCI, LLC the lowest responsive bidder. (17-013)

Approved service order No. 2 under hosted advanced applications agreement with Peak Reliability. Peak Reliability monitors and directs the reliable operation of the bulk electric system within the Western Interconnection to ensure an uninterrupted flow of electricity to consumers.  Peak Reliability's Energy Management System software allows the District to have a better awareness of the state of the transmission system in real time, transmission operations requirements required by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and system planning. This service order extends the agreement through December 31, 2020. (17-014)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. February 13, 2017 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
