Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Molly Simpson and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the August 8, 2016 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:
Commissioner Molly Simpson, Tim Beck and Commissioner Ron Skagen
Awarded General Foreman Tim Beck with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked Tim on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Tim thanked the Commission and said "This is a great place to work. I enjoyed working on the line crews and never considered it work, it was always fun."
Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. for the second year under contract 14-09-D, provide traffic control services. (16-119)
Approved execution of intent to grant easement agreements and easements with Barbara Uecker. The District will be replacing the existing poles with taller poles on the West side of North Baker Ave. (16-120)
Authorized District participation in the Mid-Columbia hourly coordination budget for 2016. Grant PUD, acting as Hourly Coordination Central, provides services for the coordination of power generation for the Mid-Columbia PUDs. (16-121)
Approved amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with ESSA Technologies LTD. to complete phase 2 of the renewal and modernization of the Fish Water Management Tool. This amendment will extend the term of the agreement to March 31, 2017. (16-122)
Authorized amendment No. 8 to Agreement for Engineering Services with HDR Engineering under contract 11-13-W, engineering services related to the modernization of the Wells Fish Hatchery. This change would allow HDR to continue to provide engineering support services during construction of the remaining portion of the Wells Hatchery Modernization. This change increases the contract $750,000 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $5,668,100 and extends the agreement through August 31, 2017. (16-123)
Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 16-08-W, provide and install pond 1 bird exclosure at Wells Hatchery. This change relocates a pole due to a new water line and increased the contract $2,000 bringing the total not to exceed cost to $132,850. (16-124)
Affirmed change order No. 6 to contract 14-19-W, Wells Hatchery modernization. Necessary to address several constructability issues. This change order increases the not to exceed limit $159,737 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $36,230,625. (16-125)
Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,274 end users.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. August 22, 2016 at the District's Bridgeport office.
