Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the December 10, 2007 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport office:
Presented Journeyman Electrician Vern Lester with his twenty-year service award. Commissioner Heminger thanked Vern on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Vern thanked the Commission for the recognition.
Authorized change order No. 3 to contract 07-16-D, Pangborn Substation control and relay panels. Changes include eliminating field engineer assistance. This change order will decrease the not to exceed limit $4,058 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $332,553. (07-350)
Approved the contract with Foundry Networks, Inc. under RFP 07-17-D, upgrade network equipment. The equipment, necessary to support the Douglas County Community Network, successfully passed lab testing. (07-351)
Authorized a release of easement originally granted to Puget Sound Power and Light Company. The easement is not being utilized by the District. (07-352)
Approved change order No. 1 to contract 07-29-W, warehouse and fabrication shop for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Changes include extended fire protection water line, floor drains in the restrooms and transformer foundations. This change order will increase the not to exceed limit $26,833 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $3,803,610. (07-353)
Awarded Tunnel Hill Granite LLC. of Chelan contract 07-39-W, 2008-09 heavy equipment services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Tunnel Hill with a bid price of $374,900 was the lowest responsive bidder. (07-354)
Awarded MRM Construction Inc. of Ellensburg contract 07-41-W, Twisp River fish trap weir modifications. MRM with a bid price of $343,516 was the lowest responsive bidder. (07-355)
Authorized renewal of legal services agreement with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. (07-356)
Authorized Douglas PUD’s participation in the Public Generating Pool budget for 2008. Douglas PUD’s share of the 2008 budget is $39,325. (07-357)
Authorized the renewal of excess liability insurance coverage with AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. The renewal premium of $269,215 reflects a decrease from 2007. (07-358)
Authorized a renewal with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for Commercial General Liability, Washington Stop Gap and Commercial Automobile Liability Coverage with a renewal premium of $177,172. (07-359)
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. December 17, 2007 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
